Doom LAN party

Nothing says geek like a Doom LAN party back in the 90s.
Somwhere around 1996 my Dad convinced me to buy a whole bunch of second hand computers from a business that went into receivership. There was about 10 computers in total but they weren’t all in working order. I managed to make six working computers out of the parts and a guy I met at university helped me rig them up to create a Doom LAN party in my girlfriends share house.
After three months my girlfriend and her house mates grew bored of a bunch of guys coming around every second night to play Doom and decided that they’d rather use their kitchen table for eating and Doom got doomed.
